From my radar to yours. Bags that could Cuir me.
I love when something looks lived in… jeans, a beautiful pair of leather shoes, cookware items, homes, jewelry, cars. The admiration really extends to everything, but especially extends to leather bags. The patina that occurs over time with a well made leather bag, tells a story and it feels real. I love that.
A beautiful patina comes from wearing an item and using it for years. It happens when an untreated leather interacts with the elements, the sun, oils from your hands and life in general. An example of untreated leather, is the leather that you see on a brand new Louis Vuitton monogram canvas item, it starts out almost pink. Over time the leather develops a deep Carmel color, that you really can’t recreate without years of life behind it.
However… I wanted to share some beautiful new leather options that have a kick start to the patina process and will continue to patina over time.
During my hyper fixation of finding the perfect options for you, I have quickly learned that designer brands use the word Cuir to describe their unfinished leather items and/or those that already have a camel patina. It makes sense because “Cuir” is French for leather. As the subtitle mentions, these bags would single handedly cuir my winter blues.
